Hermes Finance is a private application built and run by Koen Michiels for his own household's use. It is not offered to the public, has no customers, no subscribers and no registration, and cannot be signed up for. These terms exist because a PSD2 account information service provider requires an application to publish them; they govern the only two people who use it.
Koen Michiels, and Lenka Michiels in respect of accounts held in her own name. Each connects only her or his own accounts, with consent given personally at the account holder's own bank. No one may connect an account they do not hold.
It retrieves balances and transaction history from the household's own bank accounts through Enable Banking, a licensed account information service provider, and stores them on the household's own self-hosted hardware to produce a net-worth history and spending overview. It is read-only with respect to the banks: it can never initiate a payment, move money, or change anything at a bank.
Access depends entirely on consent given by the account holder at their own bank. That consent expires periodically under PSD2 and must be renewed in person. It may be withdrawn at any moment, at the bank or through Enable Banking, and withdrawal ends all access immediately. Withdrawing consent is always available and never penalised.
Enable Banking is the regulated intermediary that retrieves the data from the banks; its own terms govern that relationship. Beyond it, no third party is involved and no data leaves the household's own hardware.
The application is provided as-is, for personal informational use. The figures it shows are derived from bank data and may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong — a bank feed can silently stop, and has. Nothing it displays is financial, tax, or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for the account holder's own bank statements, which remain the authoritative record.
As a private application used only by its own author's household, no liability is accepted to any third party. Nothing here limits any right an account holder has under mandatory consumer or data protection law.
These terms may be updated as the application changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it last was.
